International Quantum Communication Workshop Led by ELTE
On June 17, the international event titled "Workshop about Experiences on Building National Quantum Communication Networks", organized by the consortium led by ELTE, took place at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. The workshop aims to shape the secure digital infrastructure of the future as part of the QCIHungary project as part of the European initiative, which seeks to establish national quantum key distribution (QKD) networks. The Department of Computer Algebra was also represented with significant participation and professional contribution at the event.

In the morning session of the workshop, participants received an overview of the current development results of the Austrian, Hungarian, Romanian, and Slovak national quantum communication networks. During the afternoon workshops, the focus shifted to the practical aspects of establishing cross-border infrastructure, system interoperability, and cybersecurity challenges.
Our department actively engaged in the international exchange of experiences. As the next step in the project, the installation of commercial QKD devices along the Győr–Budapest–Szeged route will begin shortly.
