Exciting Programmes at Researchers' Night
At Researchers' Night (Kutatók Éjszakája) on 25 September 2026, members of our department ran several exciting programmes at the ELTE Faculty of Informatics. Visitors interested in cryptography and quantum computing could try an escape room, solve puzzles and attend talks:
- Chamber of Secrets: a cryptography escape room full of codes, ciphers and mathematical riddles.
- Crack the secret from the pieces – learn the basics of encryption!: playful puzzles introducing methods and tricks of encryption.
- How afraid should we be of quantum computers?: a talk on when, and how seriously quantum computers threaten today's encryption, and how we can defend against them.
- Quantum computers and the security of the future: a (quantum) leap into the void?: a talk on the basics of quantum computing, post-quantum cryptography and the Piquasso photonic quantum computer simulator.
